Why Byzantine Catholic?

Prayer & Worship

Discover the rhythm and beauty of Byzantine Christian prayer.

Prayer at the heart of our mission

Our gatherings have included the Ninth Liturgical Hour, the singing of the troparion and kontakion for feast days, Gospel readings, silent meditation, and open discussion.

The Divine Liturgy

The Divine Liturgy is the central Eucharistic worship of Byzantine Christians. The Liturgies of Saint John Chrysostom and Saint Basil the Great express the prayer of the Church in the Byzantine tradition.

Prayer with Scripture

Our reflections have explored passages including the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24), “Come and see” (John 1:35–51), the call of the first disciples (Mark 1:14–20), and Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus (John 3:1–21).

Feasts and seasons

The Transfiguration, the Dormition of the Theotokos, and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross are among the feasts we have reflected upon as a community.
